MOCSA’s mission is to improve the lives of those impacted by sexual abuse and assault, and prevent sexual violence in our community. MOCSA counselors work with children as young as 4 years old, using evidence-based practices to help them recover from the devastating effects of child sexual abuse. Using Art and Play Therapy, children work to process their feelings, tell their stories, and start their healing processes in a safe, non-threatening environment. MOCSA also reaches thousands of pre-k through 5th grade students every year through Project Aware, a program designed to teach children about sexual abuse in an age-appropriate manner. Kids learn about safe and unsafe touches, and that sexual abuse is never their fault.
